What are the Common Acid Reflux Symptoms?


Almost everyone experiences acid reflux. The only problem is that, the symptoms are so common that some people don’t take them seriously. As a result, their acid reflux only gets worse. So how can you really identify if this symptom is a part of acid reflux or not? Here are some of the common symptoms related to acid reflux.



Some of the acid reflux symptoms are burning sensation felt on the chest that occurs behind your breastbone. This painful sensation moves upward towards the neck and can usually last for at least 2 hours. This burning sensation is what people call heartburn. This symptom may be improved or worsen by eating food. People with acid reflux experience a sour or bitter taste of acid in the back of their throat. They may also have difficulty in swallowing. Coughing is another symptom to watch out if you have acid reflux. Usually this cough is dry and constant then followed by difficulty in breathing. Symptoms such as sore throat and hoarseness of voice is due to the acid that backflows in your throat.

For major symptoms associated with acid reflux, you must watch out for severe chest pain, vomiting, shortness of breath, minor heart attacks, narrowing of the esophagus and pre-malignant condition of the esophagus needs to have immediate medical attention.
